Places and projects
Our current projects are located in the four southern provinces of Laos: Attapeu, Sekong, Saravane, and Champassak.

In the past, the SFE has also carried out several projects in the provinces of Savannakhet and Vientiane.
Current projects
After 20 years of work in the field of health and then community development, the SFE is embarking on two new projects:
- A project on the inclusion of people with disabilities
- A project to support the recent nursing school
Sekong
- In 2019, we began the third phase of a project to support the health system (provincial hospital and services in the districts and health centers, focused on training). It follows support for the tuberculosis control program in the region.
- At the end of 2019, we completed nearly 7 years of community development work (mainly focused on agriculture and water and sanitation issues).
Salavan
We have a Health Services Support Program – Hospital and Community Health since 2017.
The second phase is in preparation for 2021.
Pakse
The TerraCare project, in collaboration with Terra Clear, a social purpose company based in Pakse, aims to develop the use of water filters in villages in the 4 southern provinces.
Vientiane
Mental Health Project, in collaboration with in collaboration with Dr. Chantharavady, Laotian psychiatrist, and the NGO BasicNeeds.
Our Vientiane office is the administrative headquarters of SFE in Laos. It is managed by the country representative,Thomas Nussbaumer, assisted by an expatriate administrator and a team of Laotian collaborators. Among its main functions, the office ensures
- the administrative and financial coordination of all projects
- relations with local authorities and partners
- logistical support for projects
- Searching for local staff
- the link with the SFE committee in Europe
